Stop Shark Fin Soup

Shark Fin Soup. A cruel meal.
Fisherman will catch sharks, cut off their fins, and throw them back into the water to die just for their fins to create this soup. They do not even use the rest of the meat.
Sharks are the top predetors of the ocean. Right underneath the Killer Whale they are at the top of the Ocean Food Chain. They have been surviving in this world before the dinosaurs. That's 380 million yrs. But if we continue to kill them at the rate we do they will soon become extinct. We kill about 100 million sharks each yr.
We need sharks. If they go extinct the ocean will soon die and we need the ocean to survive. 80% of our oxygen comes from the ocean. If the sharks die we will die. If we save these sharks we are helping save our own species.
This Petition is targeted to at least one Restaurant. But I will send these signitures off to other Restaurants that sell shark fin soup.

This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible starting after Nov 29, 2008.

Sharks are beautiful majestic creatures. Let them keep their fins so they can swim. Cutting off their fins and throwing them into the sea to drown is a sad waste of life ...all for a cup of soup that is flavored with chicken and ham broth. I don't even live near the ocean and I'm wearing a stop shark finning T-shirt. Is a cup of soup really worth the extinction of a species? Those people who are doing this will have to answer to a higher power. Maybe they will get to experience having their limbs cut off and then be thrown into the ocean to drown.

I think cruel people will get cruelty back on them! Regardless of the issue at hand about our survival (I totally agree)...what bothers me is the cruelty! The look at these innocent beings tortured for the ego of humans. I have half a mind to go out into the ocean fully armed and hunt shark fishers!
Not to sound too emotional but this treatment of life by this so called economy and it's greedy outcome just makes me sick!
